Abbey Medieval Festival 2021 plans
Jun. 26th, 2021 11:29 pm
It's only a week away but the excitement and planning are getting serious now! There are always a few last-minute jobs, and this year is no exception. I've got a lot going on.
I'll have signed copies of The Very Secret Sex Lives of Medieval Women for sale at discounted prices! A bigger discount applies if you're a re-enactor, because why not?
Friday is Family Fun Day which is aimed at kids in particular. I'm offering a few take-me-home activities for the young ones and the young-at-heart ones masquerading as adults. I'll have Colour-Me-In pages and some Paper Dolls to cut and colour with some spare clothes for mixing and matching. Both activites usually go down well with most ages.

The 7 foot tall copy of my book's front cover is now Covid-safe and ready to function as a selfie station.
Yes, it's entirely possibly to put yourself on the front cover of my book. The back has been waterproofed and will be disinfected in between each person with hospital grade antibacterial wipes.
We know how much a love a good giveaway, so there will be a Prize Pack of medieval goodies to be won by a lucky festival-goer.
To win you need come visit the Rosalie's Medieval Woman tent in the marketplace, say the secret word, and be at the festival on Sunday to collect. If you can't collect but have a friend who can collect, that's fine too. The secret word will be posted on social media over the next week.
In other possibly related news, the secret word is squirrel.
I'm also excited to have the original cover artwork on display. It's beautiful!
If that's not enough, I'll also have some sample goodies from Tania Crossingham's Illuminations since she's in Finland and I'm over here in Australia. Sadly, due to Covid and international travel, she won't be attending the festival. You'll be able to see her goodies and order your own online from her range.
And clearly, I'll be talking each day about the Very Secret Sex Lives of Medieval Women at the Pageant Wagon stage where the University Pavillion used to be. You really can't shut me up about it.
I hope I'll see you there!
